DKI Government with Bank of Indonesia – Jakarta Continuously Promote NPG
July 27, 2018 – The Representative Office of Bank of Indonesia (BI) – DKI Jakarta in cooperation with DKI Jakarta’s Banking held socialization event of National Payment Gateway (NPG) through Customer Gathering. Titled “Gerbang Pembayaran Nasional sebagai Pemersatu Transaksi Pembayaran Nasional (National Payment Gateway as the Unifier of National Payment Transaction)”, the event that was held at Pullman Hotel – Jakarta was attended by DKI Jakarta’s Vice Governor Sandiaga Uno, members of the Representative Office of BI – Jakarta, representatives of NPG Institution, and representatives of 8 Banks’ customers including BNI, BRI, Mandiri Bank, BCA, CIMB Niaga, Permata Bank, Mandiri Syariah Bank and DKI Bank. PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara as one of institution under NPG also attended this socialization event that was continuously promoted by DKI Government and BI – Jakarta. The aim of the event is to introduce NPG system to the attendees as well as giving appreciation to all parties that support the program. In the future DKI Government will keep pushing the BI – DKI Jakarta’s Campaign in raising awareness about NPG to public. Based on BI’s data, there are some benefits in using NPG, such as customers can do transactions in all EDC machines of Banks across Indonesia and customers won’t be charged by merchant when doing transactions using EDC (Debit). NPG is also in line with Non-Cash National Movement proposed by Indonesia’s government. Other benefits would be the protection of consumers’ data through customers’ transaction data security and the decreasing cost of transaction processing that makes for cheaper administration fees. It is hoped that with the continuous effort of NPG Campaign will make public realize its efficiency and move to using cards with the NPG symbol to strengthen the National electronic payment system. PT Jalin will also keep its commitment to support the implementation of NPG and help create a more advanced domestic transaction. With NPG our payment will be more secure, reliable and trusted.
