It all started with the establishment of the Link brand by one of Telkom Group’s businesses, which happened to provide an ATM Switching service. On March 31, 2017, Jalin began managing Link to optimize Himbara’s processes, and it continues to develop the brand up to this point.
Jalin was established on November 3, 2016 as one of the subsidiaries of PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk, owing to the initiative of the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the Association of State-owned Banks (Himbara) in supporting the effort to bring about efficient and sovereign national payment systems.
Jalin obtained permits and licenses to act as an ATM Switching Principal, Debit Switching Principal, Switching Operator, and Debit Card Clearing Operator. It also joined the Indonesia Payment System Association (ASPI). Moreover, Jalin was designated as a GPN Switching Agency and became one of the consortium companies that formed PT PTEN, in which Jalin holds 7.5% of its shares.
On June 19, 2019, PT Danareksa (Persero) acquired 67% of Jalin’s shares from PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. As a result, Jalin became a subsidiary of PT Danareksa (Persero). In the same year, Jalin also obtained approval to become a Switching Agency for Transaction Processing using Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS).
Jalin expanded its switching service for QRIS and Internet & Mobile Banking (IMB) as well as conducted a trial for cross-border QR. The Managed Services business continued to grow, as reflected in the procurement of e-channel platforms and Innovation of 4.0 Premises Services. Jalin also introduced a new corporate culture called JalinID: BISA – SINERGI – TANGGUH (ABLE – SYNERGY – RESILIENT), highlighting Jalin’s readiness to constantly adapt to business dynamics.
Jalin’s service coverage expanded after obtaining a permit as a participant of Cross Border QRIS Sandbox. In addition, Bank Indonesia (BI) appointed Jalin as a Payment System Infrastructure Provider (PIP) in accordance with its new regulation on the provision of Payment System Infrastructure.
It was a year full of achievement for Jaliners, as Jalin received the AKHLAK Award BUMN 2022 for the Danareksa Cluster and was included in the list of Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2022 in the HR Asia Awards, reflecting its healthy culture and workplace as well as its positive impact on others. Jalin also obtained the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Certification 3.2.1 from Network Intelligence.
