Strengthening QRIS Tap Interconnectivity, Jalin Advances Seamless Digital Transactions

Indonesia’s digital payment ecosystem continues to demonstrate strong and sustained growth, driven by the increasing adoption of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) across all segments of society. As of mid-2025, Bank Indonesia data shows that QRIS recorded approximately 6.1 billion transactions, with a total transaction value of IDR 317 trillion, representing year-on-year growth of more than 148 percent. During the same period, the number of QRIS users reached around 57 million, supported by more than 39 million merchants nationwide. These figures underscore QRIS’s position as a key pillar of Indonesia’s national digital payment system, which is becoming increasingly inclusive and widely adopted.

Building on this momentum, Bank Indonesia has introduced QRIS Tap as a new innovation designed to further accelerate and simplify digital payment transactions. Utilizing Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, QRIS Tap enables users to complete payments by simply tapping their smartphones on payment terminals, eliminating the need to scan QR codes. This innovation delivers a faster and more convenient transaction experience, while maintaining high standards of security and user protection.

As an integral part of the national payment system ecosystem, PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara plays an active role in supporting the development and implementation of QRIS Tap through its function as a payment system infrastructure provider. Jalin ensures that QRIS Tap transactions operate reliably and are seamlessly interconnected across multiple applications, devices, and service providers. In this regard, Jalin has collaborated with key banking partners, including PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, to strengthen interoperability and expand public adoption of QRIS Tap. Backed by a robust and resilient infrastructure, Jalin contributes to delivering a digital payment experience that is accessible, efficient, and dependable for users anytime and anywhere.

In addition to infrastructure readiness, Jalin’s commitment is also reflected in its ongoing efforts to enhance digital payment literacy. Through internally managed social media platforms, Jalin actively educates the public on the benefits of digital payment systems, including emerging technologies such as QRIS Tap. These initiatives are aligned with the national Asta Cita agenda, particularly in advancing financial inclusion, accelerating digital transformation, and strengthening public trust in the use of digital financial services in everyday activities.

Looking ahead, Jalin continues to work closely with banks, fintech companies, and other industry stakeholders to broaden the adoption of QRIS Tap across various sectors, including transportation, retail, healthcare facilities, and other public services. The deployment of QRIS Tap in these sectors is expected to improve service efficiency while delivering a more seamless and integrated transaction experience for the public.

With a strong commitment to continuously strengthening payment infrastructure and supporting innovation, Jalin remains dedicated to fostering a digital payment ecosystem in Indonesia that is faster, more convenient, secure and inclusive.
