Leading the Integration of Indonesia’s Largest ATM Network, Jalin’s CEO Named Top 100 National CEOs of 2024
Nov 30, 2024
Jakarta – Ario Tejo Bayu Aji, CEO of PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (Jalin), a subsidiary of the Danareksa SOE Holding, has been recognised as one of the Top 100 CEOs of 2024 by Infobank. The award was presented on Friday, 29 November, at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, in recognition of his visionary leadership in transforming Jalin into a key driver of digital payment infrastructure through the The National Digital Highway vision.
The selection process for the Top 100 CEOs of 2024 was based on key criteria, including corporate performance, individual achievements, and success in driving organisational value. Indicators such as value creation, transformation, crisis management, and strategic innovation were central to the evaluation.
Under Ario’s leadership, Jalin has successfully transformed Indonesia’s financial ecosystem by providing integrated digital payment infrastructure. One of the company’s landmark achievements has been the integration of state-owned banks’ (Himbara) ATMs under the ATM Link brand into Indonesia's first and largest single-platform network.
This integration not only enhances services for Himbara customers but also promotes equitable financial access nationwide, reaching provinces and remote districts. Through ATM Link, Himbara customers enjoy a seamless transaction experience across all ATM Link and Himbara networks without changes in features or service fees.
Additionally, Jalin has spearheaded advancements in online transaction security with its Jalin Verifi3d service. As a switching provider, Jalin implemented 3DSecure technology for National Payment Gateway (GPN) cards on e-commerce platforms, ensuring an extra layer of protection for digital transactions that complies with EMVCo international standards.
This technology not only enhances transaction security but also builds user trust in the digital payment ecosystem. With Jalin Verifi3d, the adoption of GPN cards for digital transactions is expected to rise, positioning them as the preferred choice on domestic e-commerce platforms.
Jalin’s The National Digital Highway vision is grounded in the principle that the future of the financial ecosystem lies in shared infrastructure. By creating an integrated network, Jalin alleviates the burden on banks and fintech companies of managing fragmented infrastructure and operations, enabling them to focus on their core business: delivering superior customer service, enhancing user experiences, and reaching underserved communities.
“In today’s digital era, the future is no longer just about competition but about how every element of the financial ecosystem can connect to create greater value,” said Ario. “Jalin serves as the link that ensures institutions, from banks to fintechs, can share efficient infrastructure, allowing them to prioritise customer needs. This is the essence of The National Digital Highway—a vision to digitally connect Indonesia.”
Jalin’s transformative achievements align with Bank Indonesia’s Blueprint for Indonesia’s Payment System 2030, which emphasises infrastructure modernisation, technological innovation, and cross-industry collaboration as key drivers of national digital economic growth. With a robust and secure national payment infrastructure, Jalin not only accelerates payment digitalisation but also ensures financial services are inclusive and equitable.
“With these achievements, Jalin remains committed to driving broader integration across the payment industry. Through innovation, collaboration, and the vision of The National Digital Highway, Jalin is optimistic that Indonesia can lead in the digital economy era, ensuring all players in the financial ecosystem adapt and thrive to meet the needs of the future,” Ario concluded.
