Paving the Way for Early Independence: Jalin and BSI Maslahat Collaborate to Empower Orphans and Underprivileged Children
Jul 18, 2025

Jakarta, July 18, 2025 – PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (“JALIN”), part of the Danareksa SOE Holding, in collaboration with BSI Maslahat, hosted an event titled Islamic Study and Empowerment for Orphans and the Underprivileged: Embracing the Islamic New Year with a Renewed Spirit, held at the BSI Maslahat Hall in Central Jakarta. This initiative is part of Jalin’s commitment to its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, with a focus on community empowerment and expanding access to education.
One of the main highlights was a program designed to build children’s social and emotional competencies, engaging participants from Yayasan Dongeng Ceria, Bekasi. With an emphasis on creativity and active participation, children took part in various life-skills activities—from tempeh production and rabbit farming to educational field trips that encouraged teamwork, communication, and self-confidence.
This program went beyond traditional education. By offering real-world experiences, it aimed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and foster independence from an early age. The children were introduced to the fundamentals of small-scale business operations while discovering their personal strengths and potential—skills they can carry with them as they prepare for life beyond formal education.
The goal is to ensure that when these children graduate and face the next chapter of life, they are not only emotionally and mentally equipped but also possess practical skills that could serve as a foundation for entrepreneurship. This is the essence of the empowerment vision shared by Jalin and BSI Maslahat: transforming short-term aid into long-term capability.
As part of the same initiative, Jalin and BSI Maslahat also distributed IDR 15 million in educational assistance and 81 Qur’an copies to children from Al-Amanah Orphanage in Depok. These contributions aim to support both their spiritual growth and their continued educational journey.
The spirit of the Islamic New Year was deepened through a reflective session led by Ustaz Abdul Muyassir, Lc., M.A., who offered inspirational messages to welcome the new year with a mindset of hijrah—inner transformation, strengthened resolve, and higher values.
The event was also attended and supported by key leadership, including Eko Dedi Rukminto (Director of Jalin), Dina Handayani (Head of Corporate Funding, BSI Maslahat), and Medina (Department Head of Transaction Banking, BSI), highlighting the strong commitment behind the initiative.
The collaboration between Jalin and BSI Maslahat marks a meaningful step in expanding the impact of social programs that empower communities. This synergy not only fosters the growth of young generations but also strengthens the spiritual, emotional, and economic resilience of society—sustainably and inclusively.
