Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara Wins Two Prestigious Awards at the Asian Experience Awards 2024
Oct 04, 2024
Singapore - Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (“Jalin”), a subsidiary of Danareksa, part of the Indonesian state-owned enterprise holding company, proudly received two distinguished awards at the Asian Experience Awards 2024, hosted by The Asian Business Review (Charlton Media Group) on Thursday, October 3, at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore.
Competing with over 90 renowned companies from across Asia and Australia, Jalin secured two honors: Indonesia Brand Experience of the Year - Financial Services for its vision of “The National Digital Highway: Bridging Communities with Financial and Non-Financial Ecosystems,” and Indonesia Product Experience of the Year - Financial Services for ATM Link. This service has revolutionized banking access in Indonesia by integrating the ATM networks of Indonesia’s State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara), including Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI, and BTN. These accolades further highlight international recognition of Jalin’s leadership in the payment processing industry and its role as a key provider of payment infrastructure for banking and fintech sectors in Indonesia.
Jalin’s President Director, Ario Tejo Bayu Aji, expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, especially Jalin’s employees, shareholders, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, and the entire “Link” network, now comprising over 70 banking and fintech entities across Indonesia. “Jalin’s vision aims to create a shared services platform that integrates various payment channels and service providers, promoting national payment system interconnection and interoperability while ensuring financial inclusion for all, so that no one is left behind,” said Ario.
He further emphasized that as of the first half of 2024, Jalin’s focus has been on developing its three core business pillars: Universal Switching Powerhouse, National Cash Champion, and Collaborative Digital Enabler. This strategy aligns with Jalin’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s digital economic growth, expanding service reach to remote areas, and maximizing cashpoint functions through the ATM Link network for communities that still rely on cash transactions.
In line with Bank Indonesia’s Blueprint Sistem Pembayaran Indonesia (BSPI) 2030, Jalin actively participates in numerous innovative initiatives shaping the future of digital payments in Indonesia. Jalin’s primary focus is on infrastructure development, fostering industry innovation, and expanding international collaborations to create a more advanced and inclusive payment system.
As part of this commitment, Jalin is involved in the development of cross-border QRIS, enabling transactions with countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and others expected to join in the future. Jalin is also gradually expanding NFC-based QRIS Tap technology and implementing QRIS Tuntas, which offers services such as cash withdrawal, transfer, and deposit. These initiatives not only strengthen the integration of QR-based payments across Indonesia but also accelerate the growth of a more inclusive digital payment ecosystem.
“The future of Indonesia’s banking and fintech industries will be driven by shared infrastructure and innovative features. Jalin plays a pivotal role in shaping these sectors by offering strategic approaches that optimize operational costs and investments for national, regional, and fintech banks, allowing them to focus on enhancing services for their customers,” Ario concluded.
