Celebrating Eid al-Adha 1444 H, Jalin Collaborates with Holding Danareksa to Distribute 2,600 Packages of Meats
Jul 04, 2023
JAKARTA, June 30, 2023 – Qurban is a multidimensional act of worship. In addition to being a form of Muslims’ gratitude to Allah SWT, qurban can also contribute to the community’s socio-economic life. Celebrating Eid al-Adha 1444 H, PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (“Jalin”) once again synergized with BAZNAS in the “Kurban Bersama Holding Danareksa” program to distribute 2,600 packages of meats around the Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) area.
President Director Ario Tejo Bayu Aji revealed that this year Jalin donated 2 cows and 2 goats through Holding Danareksa and BAZNAS as a form of gratitude for the continuity and smooth running of the company’s business and operations throughout the first semester of 2023. The sacrificial animals were donated by employees through the Jalin Patungan Kurban program which is held every year.
“Sharing with our brothers and sisters in need, such as the underprivileged and orphans, is our tradition in celebrating Eid al-Adha. We hope that the meat distribution with Holding Danareksa and BAZNAS is able to reach the underprivileged population in 3T (frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped) areas and mustahik (people who are eligible to receive zakat),” he said.
Ario explained that Jalin continues to play an active role in supporting the improvement of community welfare through sustainable social assistance programs. This is in line with the Ministry of SOEs’ Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) program, which is oriented towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the social and economic pillars.
“In addition to donating meats, this collaboration program between Jalin, Holding Danareksa, and BAZNAS is a form of the Company’s efforts to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially small breeders in villages who breed sacrificial animals until they are ready to be sold. Hopefully, on this blessed day, Jalin and Holding Danareksa can also benefit small businesses,” Ario added.
In line with Ario, EVP Investor Relations & CSR of PT Danareksa (Persero) Putu Dewika hoped that more and more Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs would be implemented with the concept of collaboration to give more benefits to the community.
“This year, the Kurban Bersama Holding Danareksa program managed to collect a total of 13 cows and 14 goats. Holding Danareksa regularly holds this program with all Holding members to expand the distribution of sacrificial meat and its positive impact on the community. Hopefully, this activity can continue to be a tradition as well as encourage the community to organize similar activities,” he said.
The slaughter of all sacrificial animals was carried out at the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) managed by a Danareksa Holding member, PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN), located at the Darussalam Mosque, North Jakarta. The slaughtering process applied halal and hygienic standards and was carried out by trained professionals with certification.
A total of 2,600 packages of meats were distributed in the Jabodetabek area, especially to the community around the KBN area in Rawa Badak with assistance from the North Jakarta Police, to the community in Tanjung Priok with the assistance from the North Jakarta District Attorney’s Office, to the community in Rawa Rakas with the assistance from the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of DKI Jakarta, and to mustahik around the Balai Ternak (livestock center) and other BAZNAS Institutions.
Vice Chairman of BAZNAS Mokhamad Mahdum welcomed the distribution of sacrificial meat carried out by Holding Danareksa, all Holding members, and BAZNAS. Mahdum revealed that the total value of sacrificial meat collected through BAZNAS reached IDR 10.5 trillion in 2022 and has the potential to reach IDR 15 trillion in 2023.
“The distribution of meats carried out by Holding Danareksa and BAZNAS will certainly have an extraordinary social and economic impact, including providing health and adequate nutrition to the community,” he added.
In addition to participating in social activities during Eid al-Adha and the long holiday season, Jalin projects positive growth on the LINK network in several digital payment transaction channels throughout the period of June 2023. When compared to the same period in 2022 (YoY), the increase in transactions occurred mainly in debit switching services, which increased by 29%, and QRIS services, which significantly increased by up to 457% or around 38.5 million transactions.
“Besides being able to contribute to the community in the Eid al-Adha celebration, another thing that we should be grateful for is that Jalin also continues to be able to process all payment transactions that tend to increase during the long holiday period. This increase could be a result of the high transaction activity of the community to donate meats, fulfill Eid and family needs, and carry out various activities during the long holiday of Eid al-Adha. The non-cash lifestyle has now become popular among Indonesians and this is in line with our vision to continue to connect people with the financial and non-financial ecosystems,” concluded Ario.
