Promoting the Digitalization of Regional Banks’ Support in Preparing for the Digital Financial Economic Literacy in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Region, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan Collaborates with PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara

JAKARTA, May 10, 2023 – Collaborating with PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan which is renowned as Bankaltimtara, PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (“Jalin”) continues to reinforce its commitment to encouraging national financial inclusion by signing the Memorandum of Understanding for the Cooperation of LINK Services during the Digital Finance and Economy Festival (FEKDI) 2023 held by Bank Indonesia and Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs since May 7-10, 2023 in Jakarta Convention Center.


Director of Business and Sharia Affairs of Bankaltimtara (PT BPD Kaltim Kaltara), Muhammad Edwin, described that the synergy built with Jalin constitutes the Company’s effort to offer solution-oriented and technology-based banking services for the customers.


“We are looking forward to collaborating with Jalin in developing strong, competitive, and contributive digital services to support the quality and sustainable growth of the local economy, as well as to provide excellent services for the Bankaltimtara customers,” stated Edwin.


Edwin also revealed that the collaboration between Bankaltimtara and Jalin is, particularly, the key to supporting the acceleration process of the digitalization of transactions. Digitalization Optimization and the expansion of service channels through collaboration between both companies undoubtedly have the potential to increase the fee-based income of both Bankaltimtara and Jalin.


On the other hand, it is also one of the efforts made by Regional Banks operating in the supporting region of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) to join in preparing and participating in digital financial economic literacy, as well as fulfilling the community’s need for payment system in IKN which possesses comprehensive banking digital service ecosystem.


In addition, as a company providing integrated services in today’s payment system technology, Jalin is a company managing LINK switching network services with the largest market share in the debit switching product category. As a Payment System Infrastructure Provider (PIP), Jalin commences a transformation into a digital enabler that connects the community with financial and non-financial ecosystems in line with its vision of being “The National Digital Highway”.


The establishment of cooperation between Bankaltimtara and Jalin also aims to expand the payment system network and improve service quality which includes community and customer security, convenience, and comfort by offering more options and improving Bankaltimtara customers’ access to a broader payment network.


“With the new addition of this payment network, Bankaltimtara customers are able to transfer, withdraw cash, pay bills, buy products, and make e-commerce payments through ATMs with the LINK logo, not only in East and North Kalimantan region but also in all Jalin network across Indonesia. Through this cooperation, Bankaltimtara becomes a member of the LINK network managed by Jalin,” added Muhammad Edwin.


Upon the execution of the MoU, Eko Dedi Rukminto as the Commercial Director of PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara, expressed that the Company will collaborate in supporting the banking system infrastructure for Bankaltimtara’s ATM service, allowing customers to make transactions in ATMs that are members of the LINK network.


“We appreciate Bankaltimtara’s trust to choose Jalin as their partner in providing a credible financial service system for Bankaltimtara customers. It aligns with the spirit of FEKDI 2023 themed “Synergy and Innovation of Digital Economy: Fostering Growth” echoing collaboration as the engine in realizing a digital financial economy,” explained Eko Dedi Rukminto.


Along with the needs of local banking institutions in providing sufficient financial services for their customers, Jalin plays a significant role as the digital enabler that supports the digital transformation of Regional Development Banks (BPDs), especially Bankaltimtara. Jalin hopes that this initiative becomes a starting point in supporting the establishment of regional digital banking that can compete with national banks, particularly in the Kalimantan region through Bankaltimtara as the regional champion bank. Collaboration with various BPDs is one of many efforts made by Jalin to stimulate the expansion of more inclusive banking financial services accessible even to remote parts of the country. During FEKDI 2023, Jalin also signed a number of agreements with BPDs, namely Bank DKI for Jalin Payment Integrator and Cardless Withdrawal service, as well as Bank BJB Syariah for ATM services.


“In the future, Jalin will offer more diverse and broad digital services to reach various touch points of the banking system, starting from ATM, Debit, QRIS, integrated payment channel service solutions for different biller products through Jalin Payment Integrator, Jalin Virtual ATM, to server directory services to process GPN card transactions in online merchants using 3D secure technology (Jalin Verifi3D),” concluded Eko Dedi Rukminto.
