Jakarta – PT Danareksa (Persero) has officially aquires the majority shares of PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara, a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) which was marked by the acquisition signing by Danareksa President Director Arief Budiman and Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah at the Ministry of BUMN building, Jakarta (19/6).

“Danareksa with its robust access to the national financial system, hopefully will provide opportunities for Jalin to contribute to the national payment industry efficiency,” said Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara’s President Director Otto Benny Hantoro.

The 67% acquisition of Jalin’s shares by Danareksa is in accordance with the initial plan of its establishment, that majority ownership would be transferred to a designated state financial services holding. Previously, Jalin was fully owned by Telkom Indonesia since it was founded in 2016.

Jalin’s main services includes ATM/EDC switching, licensed as principals and switching institutions of the National Payment Gateway (NPG).

Jalin is expected to support more efficient financial transaction services to the community, as well as contributing to the national economic growth.

Danareksa President Director Arief Budiman, said that ‘switching’ activities carried out by Jalin were businesses that supported the banking sector and the financial industry which is in line with the Banking and Financial Services Holding plans, therefore Jalin is contributing to improve the quality of financial services infrastructure.

“Through its efficiency accomplishment that have been and will continue to be carried out by Jalin, it is expected to reduce bank switching costs, manage ATMs and ultimately reduce transaction costs that is currently borne to the customer,” Arief explained.

Jalin Consolidation allows Danareksa to own a subsidiary with strategical role in the financial industry, therefore Jalin is expected to be beneficial for Danareksa in increasing its involvement in the development of the Indonesian financial industry.

Meanwhile, Telkom’s President Director Ririek Adriansyah also added that this collaboration is a manifestation of the company’s synergy with the State’s Owned Financial Enterprise (BUMN) that had been planned since the beginning of Jalin’s establishment.

Ririek added that, Telkom fully supports this corporate action and expect the future of digital banking implementation or the national payment system will become wider and easier which can accelerate the development of Indonesia’s digital economy.
